Purple heart
Purple heart has an amazing colour, it’s deep purple hue increases in intensity as it is exposed to the air. It comes from Central and South America and is a dense hardwood.
My father and I use to use it in small inlay details for furniture. These days I like to use purple heart in small pieces, to add a flash of colour to jewellery. I find it works well when combined with tagua nut, which is white. The contrast in colours helps to set the other one off. It also looks great with other light coloured timbers.
