It has been a great honour to be selected as a finalist for the National Contemporary Jewellery Award for the second time running. This biennial award and touring exhibition features the most cutting edge contemporary jewellery in Australia.
The handmade wooden brooch that was selected as a finalist for the award is called “Where the wild things play”.
Artist statement
On a distant land, isolated by a vast marauding ocean, lies a lonely basalt out crop. Weathered by the elements, this remanent of a volcanic mountain range provides just enough shelter for habitation. In this, the most unlikely of places, Darwin’s theory of evolution takes hold.
