NATIVE + EXOTIC TIMBERS FROM AROUND THE WORLD

Nature never ceases to amaze me with all of the rich colours in Australian native and exotic timbers.
I have over twenty-five timbers in my growing library and I love sharing the story behind each one.

Indian Ebony

Indian ebony is an incredibly dense hardwood which can vary in colour from dark brown to jet black. It is often used in musical instruments such as pianos, guitars and other string instruments.

Mulga

Mulga is an incredibly dense hardwood that is found in the arid regions of Australia. This timber was traditionally used to make boomerangs and spears.

Ancient Redgum

Ancient redgum is a very special native timber. It’s been buried for thousands of years under layers of river sediment. In that time it’s been absorbing minerals in the soil and turned from red to almost black.
